By that, I mean I take culture, my culture, very seriously and cultures from all of the world seriously and what better time to show and share other cultures and the richness of other traditions through platforms. ![]() Gigi Saul Guerrero – I think we live in such an amazing time for film and television today that there is a high demand for content and there are platforms everywhere. PopHorror – Hell yes! I’m so proud of you! Was it important to you to represent your culture and what is currently going on at the borders through this film? So to me, it was amazing to see the response and it just gets me so pumped up for the next movie! How amazing that my first feature got to be Culture Shock and I made something so personal to me that was half in Spanish and half in English on such an important subject matter of border crossing. I’m so lucky to have worked with Blumhouse on Culture Shock because they really trust the filmmakers to do what is in their gut and what is in their imagination. Gigi Saul Guerrero – Hi Tori! Thanks for being patient with me, it’s been an exhausting week! Man, my experience from Culture Shock is still… I still don’t even know if it’s a dream, you know? I feel like I still haven’t woken up from it: it’s so unreal. What was it like to put out your first feature and get a great response from it? Your first feature film Culture Shock kicked ass at festivals and, in my opinion, is the best film in Hulu’s Into the Dark Series. PopHorror –Gigi, you’ve had one hell of a year. ![]()
